Controls scaffold erection, alteration and dismantling, and inspection before use — including the scaffold-parts inspection checklist and handover. Enforces competent erection and inspection before access.

How to use this permit

Plan to design

Reference the scaffold design and load rating. Confirm tie points and foundation.

Set exclusion zone

Barricade below the work. Brief other trades to stay clear. Erect by ticketed scaffolders only.

Inspect and tag

Competent person inspects and tags green (complete and safe). Re-inspect every 30 days or after weather event / alteration.

Authorise use

Once green-tagged, other trades may access the scaffold. Tags revert to yellow during alteration; red when unsafe.

Dismantle and close out

Re-establish exclusion zone for dismantle. Lower components, don't throw. Final inspection.
